Join us for a vibrant and energetic group singing experience, led by acclaimed vocal coach Michelle Foreman. The workshop includes some great vocal warm up exercises, vocal technique, singing with other voices, and learning a piece of beautiful choral music to perform as a choir by the end of the afternoon. Afternoon tea is included, with time to chat with the other participants, find out more about local choirs and singing groups, and just connecting with others who enjoy music and singing. Presenter: Michelle Foreman: We welcome Michelle Foreman, well-known professional vocal coach to faciliate our annual Choral Workshop. This is open to choristers across the mountains as well as anyone who loves to sing and is looking for an uplifting choral experience with an experienced facilitator. Michelle graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Her experience as a professional opera singer in Australia, the UK and USA, has informed her approach in preparing others to pursue their musical dreams. She has been teaching for 20 years. Michelle balances discipline and technical clarity with laughter and fun. Margo Adelson: Our pianist will be familiar to many as a regular accompanist with Academy Singers. An experienced keyboard player (piano, harpsichord and organ), viola da gambist and singer, Margo was official accompanist for the Blue Mountains, Penrith and Hawkesbury Eisteddfods. She has directed various choirs, including Warrimoo Chorale, Pure Chants and Glenbrook Community Choir. Margo currently teaches piano and Musicianship from her Springwood studio.
