 Mozart

W.A. Mozart (1756 - 1791)

The major piece for this concert will be Mozart's Missa Brevis K.140., sometimes referred to as the "Missa Pastoralis". In Mozart's time this was a widespread type of mass, especially in Bohemia and Italy, and the themes can be song-like and often make use of folksongs or references to well-known tunes of the time. We will also be performing contemporary pieces such as the thoughtfully arranged When Memory Fades, by Jayne S. Cool, a flowing and tender melody arranged by Eric Nelson, as well as pieces by R. Vaughan Williams, Kevin Siegfried and Grammy Award nominated Norwegian composer Kim A. Arnesen, accompanied by The Kanimbla Quartet and Jane Andino on the piano.

Afternoon tea will be served in the Church Hall after the concert.
