BMYC Musical Director Catriona McKay is a highly qualified and experienced music teacher, specialising in singing and choral tuition.  Our program includes sight singing, music theory and vocal technique as well as ensemble singing.

BMYC members are provided with regular performing opportunities accompanied by local professional musicians, as well as access to workshops and masterclasses, ensuring the highest quality musical experiences.  We have a strong focus on Australian music, especially new works from Blue Mountains composers, and present these songs in our concerts and other performances throughout the year.

Our Junior and Senior choirs are non-auditioned and inclusive of all children at any level of ability and experience, with all children participating in concerts for family and friends.  Additional opportunities are provided for children who demonstrate a high standard of musical ability, commitment and reliability, through our auditioned Performance Choir 'Wollemi Voices'.  Auditions take place in Term One or Two and are open to all members of BMYC.

Highlights of our 2018 program include two fabulous workshops for children, the world-renowned Australian Girls' Choir in June/July, then in October, Australian composer and conductor of music for children Paul Jarman will return for another of his wonderfully entartaining and educational workshops, open to all interested children.
